Joel Sanchez returns to the Daytona State Baseball staff for his fourth season with the Falcons. Sanchez will assist Head Coach Tim Touma in field positional training, as well as aid in the execution of team travel, recruiting, and scheduling. Prior to DSC Sanchez spent three seasons as head coach at Division I North Carolina A&T State University (2011-2014). Sanchez has made several stops in his coaching career, beginning at his alma mater New Mexico State University as an assistant (1998-99). Moving on as an assistant at Palm Beach Community College (1999-2000). After PBCC Sanchez went on to become the Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Bethune-Cookman University (2000-2008). Sanchez spent two seasons in Professional Baseball as a minor league pitching coach in the Washington Nationals Organization (2008-2010).
Sanchez began his collegiate baseball career at New Mexico Junior College and finished at New Mexico State University where earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. He and his wife, Soraya, reside in South Daytona.
