June 26, 2025
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (June, 26 2025) — Daytona State College is excited to announce the hiring of Brock Moss as the new Head Baseball Coach, effective July 16, 2025.
Coach Moss brings over a decade of collegiate coaching experience and a strong reputation for building competitive, high-character programs. Most recently serving as an assistant coach at Auburn University at Montgomery, Moss helped guide the Warhawks to a record-setting 2024 season, including their first-ever NCAA South Regional tournament appearance and victory, as well as their highest national ranking in program history.
Prior to that, Moss served as Head Coach at Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he led the Mountaineers with distinction. His earlier tenure at Georgia Highlands College as recruiting coordinator and pitching coach was marked by five Perfect Game National Top 35 recruiting classes—three of which ranked in the Top 20 nationally. Under his leadership, Georgia Highlands achieved its highest national ranking ever and produced multiple all-conference players, an All-American, and the program’s highest-ever MLB draft pick.
Moss has also coached in top-tier collegiate summer leagues, leading teams to four regular-season championships and three postseason title games. His 2019 Strasburg Express team in the Valley League saw eight players move on to professional baseball, including two top 10 round MLB draft picks.
"I want to thank President LoBasso, Provost Locklear, Athletic Director Dunne, and Associate Athletic Director Mohr for the opportunity to be the next Head Baseball Coach at Daytona State College. My family and I are very grateful for this chance and look forward to moving down to Daytona and getting started. It was very evident for us the way business was conducted here, and it aligned with everything that we had desired in a program to lead and be a part of every day,” stated Coach Moss.
“We look forward to attacking one of the toughest, if not the toughest region in junior college baseball in the country with grit, work ethic, and integrity every day. The vision for this college and athletic program is second to none and we look forward to the opportunity to align those visions with our goals of competing at the highest level athletically possible while upholding the outstanding tradition academically that has been built at Daytona State,” added Coach Moss.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Moss to Daytona State,” said Will Dunne, Athletic Director. “His proven ability to develop talent, build winning cultures, and prioritize academic success makes him the ideal leader for our baseball program moving forward.”
Coach Moss holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Sterling College and a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Coaching from Greenville University. As a former collegiate player, he helped lead Sterling College to a 2013 NAIA World Series appearance.
