Daytona State Depth Overwhelms Eagles On Way To A 90-62 Victory
Daytona State made its trip straight down I-4 to Winter Haven over the weekend, earning a decisive 90-62 victory behind a balanced, all-around performance. The Falcons showcased their depth with eight players scoring eight points or more, overwhelming Polk State from the opening tip.
Adrian Shackleton led the charge with 17 points and eight rebounds, establishing control in the paint and setting the tone on both ends. Tyrese Lacey added 13 points and seven assists, including three shots from beyond the arc, directing the offense with poise and efficiency. Seydina N'diaye dominated the glass with 10 rebounds, helping limit second-chance opportunities and spark transition offense.
Polk State was paced by Isaiah McCray, who scored 19 points, but Daytona State's balanced attack proved too much to overcome. Consistent ball movement and defensive intensity fueled key scoring runs that put the game out of reach in the second half.
With the win, the Falcons improve to 21-5 overall. On Wednesday, Daytona State will host Indian River State College after winning the first matchup 95-79 earlier this season, in what should be a high-level contest. With four games remaining, the Falcons are within reach of a fourth straight conference championship, though they must still jockey for position amongst the confence's best.
