Daytona State College men's soccer team went on the road today to face Region 8 opponent, Miami Dade College Sharks.
In what was their final regular season match of the 2024-25 season, the Falcons record improved to 7-2-4 after defeating the #5 ranked Sharks, 3-1.
The Falcons would break the deadlock with the Sharks in the 24th minute of the contest after leading goal scorer, Hector Moreno, got his head on the end of a cross by Giovanni Donzetti. 10 minutes later, the Falcons would double the lead after Lance Talley beat his defender in the 18-yard box and took a left footed strike to beat the Sharks goalkeeper.
Kayoum M'bamba would find himself 1v1 with the Sharks goalkeeper after a pass by Josue Youta to put the Falcons up 3-0 in the 68th minute of the contest. Goalkeeper, Matthew McCall, would face a penalty kick in the final minute of the game that he saved, but the Sharks would pick up the rebound to finish the scoring.
The Falcons next match is a Region 8 semifinal playoff game versus Eastern Florida State College on Friday at Daytona State College.
