Daytona State Men's Soccer record improves to 3-0 after a thrilling home opener. The Falcon's faced off against the Thomas University Nighthawks at home for the first time this season, collecting an 8-1 win.
Hector Moreno opened the scoring in the third minute of the game with a long-range free kick only to be matched moments later by a nighthawk equalizer. Hector would lead the Falcons in scoring with another 3 goals and an assist to Didier Jean Baptiste before Sebastian Mendez would close out the scoring for the first half. Falcons led going into the second half, 6-1.
The Falcons picked up where they left off in the second half, adding another two goals scored by Josue Youta and Alejandro Zuniga. When the final whistle blew, the Falcons had won, 8-1.
The Falcons will kick off region play at 4pm versus Miami-Dade next Tuesday, September 10th at home.
