The Daytona State Falcons men's soccer team wrapped up their trip to Maryland in dominant fashion, finishing the Tom Bichy Tournament undefeated. In their second match, the Falcons faced the #14-ranked Montgomery Raptors and rose to the challenge with a commanding 3-0 victory.
Freshman forward Shelby Phanor opened the scoring with a clinical finish, capitalizing on a well-placed cross from Josue Youta. The Falcons doubled their lead through Daniel Adzah, who netted his first goal in a Daytona State jersey after a smooth combination play with Phanor and Kayoum M'Bamba, leaving Adzah with a wide-open shot.
The final blow came in the 79th minute when Carlos Rojas pounced on a second-chance opportunity to seal the win. The Raptors had a chance to pull one back with a penalty kick in the 85th minute, but sophomore goalkeeper Dikola Douglas came up big with a crucial save to preserve the clean sheet.
With this win, the Falcons showcased their depth, teamwork, and defensive resilience. They'll now enjoy a week of rest before returning home to face the newly established Northeast Alabama Mustangs.
