Baker Named Runner of the Week

Daytona State freshman Caden Baker is FCSAA Runner of the Week in week one of the 2025 season. Baker captured the award by being the first junior college runner to cross the finish line at the Florida Intercollegiate Meet, hosted by University of North Florida.  Baker helped his Falcon squad take 8th place in the meet, where seven NCAA Division 1 teams took the first seven team slots.  The Falcons finished only three points behind University of South Florida and only nine points behind Bethune Cookman.  "Caden ran very controlled and just wanted to get through his first 8000 meter race.  With each race, we will get a little bit more assertive and see how soon we can break under the 26 minute mark." commented Coach Judy Wilson.  Baker is from Lakeland, Florida and graduated from George Jenkins High School.
