6 FALCONS NAMED ALL MID-FLORIDA CONFERENCE

The Daytona State Women's Basketball team had six players named to the Mid-Florida All Conference teams and claimed the Player and Coach of the Year Awards. Sophomore Destiny Arvinger was a unanimous pick for Player of the Year, after leading the conference in seven statistical categories, including scoring (16.7PPG), 3-point field goals made (79) and free throw percentage (82.9). Arvinger reached double figures in 27 of the Falcons' 29 games. She scored over 20 points in seven contests this season. Also named to the Mid-Florida All Conference First Team was freshman, Jayla Atmore. Atmore averaged 10.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She led the Mid-Florida Conference in steals with a 2.8 per game average.

The Falcons placed 4 players on the All Mid-Florida Conference Second team. Sophomore guard Chrisana Scott, freshman posts Melissa Sam and Brittany Autry, as well as local talent, Carmella Walker. Chrisana Scott averaged just under 10 points a game for the season and started in 28 games for the Falcons. Melissa Sam averaged 7.2 points and six rebounds per game. She was second in the conference in field goal percentage at 50.8%. Brittany Autry served as a top reserve, providing the Falcons with 6.3 and 4.7 rebounds per game. A product of New Smyrna Beach High School, Carmella Walker averaged 9 points and 4.3 rebounds during Mid-Florida Conference play.

Coach Janice Washington was named Mid-Florida Conference Coach of the Year after winning the Mid-Florida Conference title, finishing 7-2 in conference play. For the regular season, the Falcons finished 20-9.
