Falcons Start 2026 Strong With 68–55 Win Over Eastern Florida
Daytona State College opened 2026 with a conference win against Eastern Florida State College, 68–55, at the L. Gale Lemerand Center. The Falcons trailed by one after the first quarter but quickly took control, outscoring the Titans 19–9 in the second to build an 11-point halftime lead. Despite a slower offensive stretch in the third, Daytona State responded with a 19-point fourth quarter and kept Eastern Florida at a distance.
Offensively, Lamiyah Hogans set the tone with an efficient 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 at the free-throw line. Khalise Vidal filled the stat sheet with 8 points and 8 rebounds, while Jaeden Williams contributed 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists, helping organize the offense and keep the ball moving. Jayda Scorza chipped in 8 points, and Ceylone Brooks knocked down two threes, contributing 6 points.
The Falcons’ depth and effort on the glass helped seal the win. Off the bench, Catalina Roco provided a spark with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting and a pair of threes, while Kendall Ruise added 8 points on 3-of-4 shooting and made key defensive plays. Calise Chisholm made her presence felt inside with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Behind that bench production and a committed team effort on the boards, Daytona State controlled the tempo for most of the afternoon.
The Falcons move to 10-2 on the season and will play their next conference game on Wednesday, January 7th, where they will travel to Santa Fe in Gainesville, Florida.
