Falcons Catch Fire in Second Half to Beat Florida SouthWestern, 87–68

Daytona State College picked up a big conference road win Saturday afternoon, knocking off Florida SouthWestern 87–68 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena. The Falcons trailed 38–37 at halftime but came out of the locker room with a strong response, outscoring FSW 25–17 in the third quarter and 25–13 in the fourth to turn a one-point game into a comfortable victory.
The starting group set a strong tone. Catalina Roco chipped in 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three and a perfect 3-of-3 at the line. Lamiyah Hogans added 10 points and 5 assists, while Jaeden Williams finished with 12 points, 8 assists, and 3 rebounds, steadying the offense and creating easy looks for her teammates. Calise Chisholm chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds, and active defense, helping Daytona State hold its own on the glass.
The bench helped Daytona State blow the game open in the second half. Jayda Scorza was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and 3-for-3 from three on her way to 18 points and 8 rebounds. Khalise Vidal added 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Ceylone Brooks knocked down a pair of threes for 6 points.
As a team, the Falcons shot 56.7% from the floor, 60.0% from three, and 71.4% at the line while collecting 37 total rebounds, using their efficiency, depth, and second-half surge to finish off a strong road win. The Falcons move to 21-4 overall and 13-2 in conference play. They will be back at home for their next conference game versus Eastern Florida State College on Wednesday, February 25th, at 5:00 p.m.
