Daytona State Rolls Past Hillsborough in 95–73 Victory

Daytona State College closed out January with a win on Saturday, running past Hillsborough Community College 95–73 on the road. The Falcons set the tone early with an 18–10 first quarter, then exploded for 32 points in the second to take firm control before halftime. Hillsborough made a push out of the break with a high-scoring third, but Daytona State answered with a 30-point fourth quarter to remove any doubt and finish off an impressive road win.
Lamiyah Hogans led the Falcons with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, knocking down three threes and adding 5 rebounds. In the paint, Calise Chisholm was dominant with 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting and 11 rebounds, while Khalise Vidal turned in 16 points, 8 boards, and 3 assists. At the point, Jaeden Williams orchestrated the offense, finishing with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 12 assists. Off the bench, Catalina Roco kept the pressure on with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 7 rebounds, and Keira Mackinnon added 6 points and 3 boards.
As a team, Daytona State shot 58.0% from the field, hit 8 threes, and handed out 22 assists, all while pulling down 46 rebounds. The Falcons move to 17–3 overall and 9–1 in conference play. They will be back on the road for their next conference game against Eastern Florida State College on Wednesday, February 4th, at 5:30 p.m.
