Daytona State Bounces Back, Dominates Santa Fe 99–55
Daytona State College got back on track Saturday afternoon, with a 99–55 win over Santa Fe College in a dominant all-around performance. The Falcons set the tone immediately with a 35–9 first quarter, flying around on defense and turning stops into quick offense. From there, they never let Santa Fe get comfortable, stretching the lead again in the third with a 29-point frame on their way to just one point shy of the century mark.
Leading the Falcons was Jaeden Williams, who set the pace early, putting together a complete performance with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists, consistently pushing the tempo and finding teammates in rhythm. Catalina Roco stayed hot from deep, knocking down 4-of-6 threes on her way to 12 points, while Lamiyah Hogans was perfect from the field, going 5-for-5 for 11 points and adding 3 boards as the Falcons’ offense flowed from start to finish.
The bench kept the pressure high and the scoring balanced. Ceylone Brooks poured in 13 points with three threes, Calise Chisholm delivered 12 points and 9 rebounds, and Khalise Vidal added 8 points and 7 boards while doing a little bit of everything. Jayda Scorza added 7 points and 5 rebounds with her usual energy, and Corrin Austell chipped in 8 points to keep the offense rolling.
As a team, Daytona State shot 50.7% from the field, hit 11 threes, and controlled the glass with 48 rebounds, showcasing depth, energy, and unselfish play in a convincing home win. The Falcons move to 18–4 overall and 10–2 in conference play. They will play their next conference game at home versus St. Petersburg College on Wednesday, February 11th, at 5:00 p.m.
