Falcons Light Up Scoreboard in 99–67 Road Win at St. Petersburg
Daytona State College kept its momentum rolling on the road Saturday, overpowering St. Petersburg College 99–67. The Falcons came out firing with 29 first-quarter points, then broke the game open in the third, outscoring the Titans 33–9 to finish out another conference victory.
Daytona State’s offense was in rhythm from start to finish, as the Falcons piled up 27 assists on 39 made field goals and shot 57.4% from the floor and 42.9% from three. Off the bench, Catalina Roco caught fire, pouring in a career-high 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 7 made threes. In the starting lineup, Khalise Vidal put together an all-around performance with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals, while Jaeden Williams added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists. Jayda Scorza had an efficient outing with 15 points, while Ceylone Brooks added 10 points.
Daytona State’s depth once again set the tone, with multiple reserves making an impact on both ends. Raili Bast provided 9 points in 11 minutes, Keira Mackinnon added 8 points, and Corrin Austell, Kendall Ruise, and Cristina Brown contributed with playmaking, rebounding, and energy. The Falcons’ unselfish play and shot-making set the tone, allowing them to control the game and secure another dominant road victory.
The Falcons move to 12-2 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. They will play their next conference game on Monday, January 12th, traveling to Florida Southwestern College.
