Daytona State Stays Hot in 95–79 Win Over St. Petersburg

Daytona State College kept its momentum rolling on Wednesday night, knocking off St. Petersburg College 95–79 in an up-tempo conference matchup at the L. Gale Lemerand Center. The Falcons were steady offensively from start to finish, putting up 22 points in the first quarter and following it with 24 in both the second and third to stay in control throughout. Even as St. Petersburg continued to score, Daytona State’s pace and efficiency on offense allowed them to keep a comfortable cushion most of the night.
Leading the Falcons, Lamiyah Hogans put together a huge performance, pouring in 31 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three and 5-of-6 at the line, while adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Right behind her, Jaeden Williams delivered a standout game of her own with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting, 11 assists, and 5 rebounds, setting the tempo and consistently creating easy looks for teammates. Catalina Roco added 13 points and hit 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, also finishing with 5 steals as she helped spark the Falcons on both ends.
Daytona State again got important boosts from its bench. Ceylone Brooks, Calise Chisholm, and Kendall Ruise each chipped in 5 points and gave the Falcons steady minutes on both sides of the floor. As a team, Daytona State shot 50% from the field, 38.9% from three, and 76.2% from the line while handing out 21 assists, showcasing an efficient offensive performance in another strong home win. The Falcons move to 19-4 overall and 11-2 in conference. They will play their next conference game at Santa Fe College on Saturday, February 14th, at 2:00 p.m.
