Lucia Guemes Named NJCAA D1 Goalkeeper of the Week

Daytona Beach, FL – Sophomore Lucia Guemes (Ampuero, Spain) of the #13 nationally ranked Daytona State College Falcons has been named NJCAA D1 women’s soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
Entering the fourth week of the season Guemes, the sophomore goalkeeper earned her second sole shutout and fifth shared of the season. Guemes played all 90 minutes with 3 saves in the road win against Cape Fear Community College. The shutout brought the Falcons to 5-0-1 on the season rising them in the National Rankings from their previous spot of #15.
Guemes has played a total of 485:21 minutes with 0.37 goals against average and 15 saves.
Guemes was the Region 8 Goalkeeper of the Year in the 2021-2022 season for the Falcons.
