The Daytona State women cross country team finished tenth in the nation Saturday at the 2021 NJCAA Cross Country Championships. Led by Atlantic Region Runner of the Year Harleigh Bilz Crist with her 17th place finish, the Falcons bettered their pre race ranking of 11th and cracked the top ten for the second year in a row. "We ran without one of our top five today, but everyone pulled together to get one of those top ten team finishes. We have a young group and it was great for them to get this experience. The future is bright for this program", Coach Judy Wilson said after the race. The Falcons had strong performances from freshmen Juliet St Angelo and Ayanna Fulton, both running in their first national championships. St Angelo finished 42nd and Fulton just 20 seconds behind, with freshman Makalya Shores, Audrey Moros, Kennedy Arterburn, and Angel Khrino finishing out the top seven.
