Jones Picked NJCAA Division 2 Runner of the Week

Daytona State's Shannon Jones was named the NJCAA Division 2 Runner of the Week for her performance at the Florida State Invitational on October 7th. Jones, running in her first season with the Falcons and in her first cross country season since her high school days 18 years ago, placed 52nd out of 300 runners with a time of 18:42 for the 5k distance at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. The course is the site for the Region 8 championships on October 28th, and the NJCAA Division 2 nationals on November 12th. Jones has been the lead runner for the Falcons in every meet this season and is the top runner in Region 8.
