Turner Earns Runner of the Week Honors

Daytona State freshman Emma Turner earned Runner of the Week honors this week from the FCSAA. The East River High School graduate finished 136th out of 351 runners at the Seminole Invitational hosted by Florida State University on September 26th and was the top junior college runner in the field.  The race was filled with NCAA Division 1 runners and Turner, running in her first 6000 meter race, held up well in a challenging field. She lead the Falcons to a top 25 finish and well ahead of six other Region 8 teams.  The Falcons are ranked #6 in the country in NJCAA Division 2 and are currently the top Region 8 team.  The Falcons will meet up with #4 Muskegon on October 11th at the Jayhawk Invite in Muskegon, Michigan.
