Falcon Women Top NJCAA Team at Mountain Dew Invitational
In a field featuring three NCAA Division 1 teams and four NCAA Division 2 teams, the Falcon women's cross country team topped all other NJCAA teams in the field to finish 8th out of 14th teams.
In a field featuring three NCAA Division 1 teams and four NCAA Division 2 teams, the Falcon women's cross country team topped all other NJCAA teams in the field to finish 8th out of 14th teams. The Falcons were led by second year runner Harleigh Crist who finished in 39th place with a time of 15:36 for the 4000meter distance. Close behind Crist was freshman Juliet St Angelo making her college debut, finishing in 42nd place with a time of 15:46. Crist and St Angelo were the top two NJCAA runners in the field that included Pasco Hernando SC, Lake Sumter SC, South Florida SC, Florida State College - Jacksonville, and Seminole State College. The Falcons also finished ahead of Florida A&M and Bethune Cookman. Finishing out the squad for the Falcons was second year runner Nathaly Abastida in 77th and freshman Kennedy Arterburn in 78th, both running much improved races from the previous week. Taking the last scoring spot was freshman Makayla Shores in 89th place.
