The Daytona State women's cross country team will be able to run a pre race warm up to the course this Saturday when they compete in the Embry Riddle Invitational. Located on the Embry Riddle campus, just across International Speedway Boulevard, the Falcons will take on 13 different teams including home team Embry Riddle, cross town NCAA Division 1 Bethune Cookman, and three Region 8 rival teams. The Falcons are coming off a runner up team finish at the Valdosta State Border Clash last weekend in very hot evening conditions. Start time for the women's 5000 meter race is 7:50am (following the men's 7:20am start). The Falcons are led by freshman Emma Turner, and will see the return of sophomore Brianna Crawford who sat out for the Valdosta meet. "Adding Bri back into the line up strengthens the group, and we are focusing on what our time gap is between our first and fifth runners, and our first and seventh runners," commented Head Coach Judy Wilson (The top five runners from each team comprise the team score.) The Falcons will also look to Tiffany Cox, Kyleigh Halloran, Kennedy Flores, Kylee Lokensgard, and Cheyenne Hulsey who have all been in the Falcon top seven. Parking is available near the ICI building on the Embry Riddle campus off of Clyde Morris Ave. The race finishes on the Embry Riddle soccer field located at 1 Aerospace Blvd., Daytona Beach.
